Scott...don`t use synthetic oil on your bike use mineral oil.
There may be a filler in the petrol cap. It takes a filler of oil to 5ltrs of fuel.....I think.

Sorry I cannot help but thanks for the question because I am looking for one to restore.
I think I have found one that I may get if you look in my photos.
Is there a way I can tell what exact year it is by the serial number?

Hi Hadyn, how are you doing?
If you write to Guzzi at mandello with the details they will send you a letter telling you exactly when it was made and who it was sent to. If you look on the Sqn Wiki there is a section by Samuel where he posts the l...
Strange thing with BMW and Guzzis.

Hi Steve, UK, Mandello, Denmark: great trip. The bike fair in Milan is a huge mess, really crowded. Moto Guzzi should bring in the "Aquila nera" (black eagle) version of a couple of models, nothing really exciting. (and all the other bike brand, simply do not exist for me, I know it sounds fanatic, and it is) I'm not really sure I'll be there. Nevertheless, the fair is 7 undergorund stops from my house, and a Danish friend coming to Italy could be good reason to change my mind. I will consult my 2 sons and see if they like the idea (it would be the very first bike expo for them). Anyway, you have to consider to stop in Milan city center for a lunch together. Keep in touch, ciao, leonardo

About Me:
I bought my first Guzzi in the Summer of 2009. The very first time I sat on it I rode to from England to Italy and home to Denmark. It was the first Guzzi I had ever sat on. It was a good learning curve. The cali is easy to ride and very comfortable. I have just bought a 1956 Moto Guzzi Cardellino as a winter project. My other bike is a Yamaha FZ6. I am English and living in Denmark. When it comes to mechanics I am useless but I will have to learn this winter when I start taking the "Goldfinch" to pieces.
What kind of Moto Guzzi do you own
I have a 1996 California 1100i called Big Red and a 1956 Cardellino.
