hi i am just about to set the ignition timing on a lm2 from what i can gather D and S are the top dead center marks are they ??? in the haynes manual (yes i know its a haynes but thats all i have ) it tells you to first of all get no 1 on compress...

Most of the 850/1000cc Guzzis of that vintage share the same Bosche alternator and (probably) similar wiring. The LM1 diagram should work fine for you to trouble shoot.
