You mean the Purple Nurple? That's a really wild bike, need to get a rear tire and put it on the road again. The engine in that one is putting out high 90s at the rear wheel so it's kind of a handful!!!
It's a nice seat, but what I'ce got currently is a custom Gunfighter seat with green sidepanels (to match the frame), which basically has the same profile. I'm really looking for the stock seat so I can ride two-up from time to time, since I plan on only having the one bike.
I dont know Kevin, but with three million people in the metro, not so surprising. I'm told that there are currently several other 1000s's in Minneapolis, but I dont know any of those guys either. I'm guessing that they all want to hold onto their seats, unfortunately.
my 1000s was missing the stock seat when I bought it. I see from one of these posts that you may be converting one of your 1000s's into a cafe special. Any interest in selling your stock seat? I've been searching for one for a while now with no joy.
If there's any interest, I'll do an article on your bikes and what's being done to them.
Have one carb done, should have the other one finished up in an hour or so. One accelerator pump was dead, the other just kind of oozed a little gas out - I think it'll have a little more pep when I'm done!
Jordan - I received your email and picture. The Lemans looks great! What is the model year? Mine is a 1977 that I purchased while living in Minnesota in 2001. It was in pretty rough shape, but if you throw enough money at something, it's amazing what the result can be.
Unlike you, the Lemans is my only bike, so my riding is limited primarily to the south eastern NH area.
How are you able to maintain 11 motorcycles? The time-sink must be horrific, but my hat is definately "off" to you. However, at least you have a few low maintenance bikes in the form of the Nortons (no maintenance there) and the Binelli, which must be very saught after.
My wife and I live in Exeter, NH. If you're ever in the area, please let me know and we can try to "hook-up." My direct email address is azahn@cpblouin.com.
Living in CT, I imagine you're a few weeks ahead of us in the weather department. Have you been able to take that first ride of the season yet? If so, which bike did you take out? Regardless of which one, I'm certain it must have been a difficult decission.
I doubt if I'll be doing anything with the chat group, but the emails are interesting, and some informative, to read.
Hope you have an enjoyable riding season!
Arthur

Is this 900ss seat from the more recent version, or the late 70's 900?
